“Lockdown” is a disco samba hip-hop single that discusses about social distancing and the status of our society during the COVID-19 pandemic. The song attempts to convey a different perspective of social distancing in a positive and romantic way. While some people panic because they are unable to work or explore the outside world with friends due to the severity of the pandemic, this song romanticises the act of staying at home with your loved one.  While the message of the song contains the topic of romanticism and social distancing, the song genre ironically is a dance genre. These two elements of the song s the new perspective of having fun during social distancing, which is what the producer has attempted to . 
Benny Char showcases his diverse ability as a musician by rapping, arranging, composing, producing, and playing the guitar. The song features two musicians that provided unique elements to the song. The first is Bob James, a grammy award winning American Jazz keyboardist, arranger, and record producer. Bob James founded the band “Fourplay” and has worked on many famous songs including the song “Angela”, which is the theme song to a TV show “Taxi”. His works has left a legacy in the hiphop industry, as many of his works from his albums were sampled often. With his contribution to hip hop music, his jazz style piano performance in the song “Lockdown” s a familiar fusion hiphop-jazz genre.
The second featured artist is a South Korean RnB and ballad singer songwriter Minsung Kim. Both Benny Char and Minsung Kim has previously worked together on their previous single release “Alright”, “Spotlight”, and “Runaway”. Minsung Kim is also a singer-songwriter who has written many songs, such as “Too Many Times”, “Break Up song”, and “일 더하기 일은 귀요미”.
